- You will be immersed in top notch performances from a talented company of versatile actors – who are performing in all three productions, including Romeo and Juliet, The Merry Wives of Windsor and The Wind in the Willows
- Open air theatre – particularly one in such a lush, green setting as this – is a truly magical experience and totally different to being in an indoor theatre
- This is theatre in the round, where you get a chance to feel much closer to the action and you just never know where the actors are going to pop up next
- The cast not only act but can also turn their hand to singing and playing a variety of instruments, truly bringing the open air theatre to life
- Said singing is sometimes performed by some of the cast just outside of the theatre while walking around it, lending a haunting and utterly captivating air to the performance
- You can bring your own picnic – anything from a few snacks to a wicker hamper basket filled with goodies. You can devour your feast of choice as you settle into your seats, watch birds soaring overhead and get ready for the show to begin
- Chester Performs are in charge and they are a very creative and talented bunch of people with an immense passion for putting on spectacular events such as this
- You will be surrounded by lots of lovely people also enjoying the show. Why not say hello to your neighbours on the seating around you – it all adds to the experience
- You don’t need sunshine to enjoy a performance – the radiant smiles from the audience and the golden performances from the stellar cast are more than enough to make up for a bit of cloud or rain. Just remember to pack some layers and a mac to be on the safe side, though!
- Because if you don’t go, you are missing out. Trust us on this one!

It looks and sounds fantastic, I have to admit it is one of the many things that I would love to go to in Chester. But I usually get waylaid by The Boathouse 😉

You should go if you get the chance. It’s an amazing experience! The Boathouse is also great, however! 🙂
