New We Are Chester writer and real ale fan Dyfan Morris is heading for the bright lights of Chester Racecourse this weekend to sample the delights of the Cheshire Beer Festival 2015.
Here, he tells us why he just can’t wait for the weekend.
“It will be bigger than 2014 after it proved so successful”.
This was one of many tantalising tweets on the @CheshireAleFest feed that has got me dribbling into my beard. CAMRA’s event last year at the Chester Racecourse sold out and was a resounding success.
This year promises even more and it’s making me giddy with excitement. If you have even the slightest interest in real ales, beer, ciders and perrys and can get to Chester Racecourse, this event is not be missed.
The two day festival begins on Friday 13 November and details of times and ticket availability are to be found on CAMRA’s website. While you’re there, check out the incredible list of over 130 beers and ciders that will be offered over the weekend.
The organisers have stated that these ales will be managed so that they will be available throughout the festival. So, no need to worry if you‘ve spotted a beer you fancy and can only make the later session on Saturday, it should still be on.
Food stalls
Not only will there be the chance to enjoy the vast array of beverages on offer, but there will be hot and cold food stalls. One business in particular caught my eye, the Merry Berry Chocs stall. Maybe a peace offering for my long-suffering wife when I get home (if I don’t eat them on the bus on the way back)?
And here’s the bit I really like…members will get their first pint free on displaying their membership card. So, that’s the food and drink covered, how about some foot stomping live music? I’m pleased to say, there’s going to be plenty of that too.
Have I tempted you yet? Why not have a look for yourselves?
Now if only I wasn’t working on those two days, sounds like it’s going to be a great event.
