We’ve been branching out. Not content with just producing content on the good stuff happening in Chester for this website, we’ve launched a new monthly radio show.
The We Are Chester Show airs on Flipside Radio every four weeks and the first show aired this week. Angela and Tori from We Are Chester co-host this aural look at all things cultural in and around Chester.
Here’s a link to the We Are Chester Show if you care to give it a listen. It’s a mix of chat, music, culture news and discussion about arts-related topics in the city.
In the first show, Tori and Angela discuss what the opening of new £37m cultural centre Storyhouse means to Chester and how it complements the existing diverse cultural offering here.
They also hatch a fiendish plan to visit Chester’s Moonlight Flicks outdoor theatre this summer to watch a classic feelgood movie. The big question is, will they take advantage of Moonlight Flicks’s rather handy pizza delivery service, bringing those delicious discs of cheesy tomatoey goodness to cinema goers’ deckchairs?!
Big thanks to the wonderful team at Flipside – including station manager Matt and his colleague, the lovely Sue – for looking after us and providing top cups of tea. Flipside is Chester’s community radio station and has an eclectic and fab range of shows catering for all musical tastes.
The next show is on Thursday, 8 June on Flipside Radio. Our guest on the night will be Matt Baker from Chester’s Theatre in the Quarter. We may also be getting a visit to the studio from another group of very special musical guests. Watch this space!
