Culture vultures from Chester and beyond, watch this space…
Today – of all days – 1 April 2015, a new voluntary project is born in the small but perfectly-formed city of Chester. And no, it’s not an April Fool’s joke, we are very excited – hugely excited, in fact – to be launching this new blog looking at all aspects of the arts in Chester, from the opening of the new Re:new cultural centre in 2016 to community events happening on your doorstep.
Before we say a bit more about our project, we’d like to say a huge thank you to the fabulous team at We Are Cardiff – the inspiration behind our blog. A chance meeting with one of the creative brains behind this award-winning blog inspired us so much that we only went and asked if we could do our own version in Chester – and the answer was yes, or should that be ydw! We think that both Cardiff and Chester are pretty cool places to live and punch above their weight for their size.
Call us ambitious, but we hope this will be the start of something pretty special. We would love to hear from anyone interested in getting involved, whether that be in terms of writing some words, taking photos or filming events happening in the city.
So however you stumbled upon our humble blog, and whatever your reason for being out and about in this fine city, welcome to We Are Chester. We hope that you will find the content useful and please do share your thoughts with us. We want this project to become a true community initiative, written by Cestrians for fellow Cestrians and visitors alike.
If you are interested in contributing to We Are Chester then please contact us via wearechester@gmail.com. We’d love to hear from you.
Watch this space! Our first feature will be coming very soon.
