We’d like to give a great big warm welcome to the newest member of the We Are Chester team – artist Dai Owen.
He’s a dab hand at sketching the world around him and is a specialist in reportage drawing. He has even had his work featured on the BBC website, illustrating a Radio 4 play, Quake.
We are honoured to have him on board and would like to introduce him through a few words from the man himself and a very fitting festive-themed series of sketches. Dai has been out and about in the city, drawing festive shop windows which caught his eye. What do you think? We think they are absolutely charming. Can you spot which shops he has featured?
Over to Dai:
“I’ve had a little project over the last few days. I’ve been interested to find shop or café windows in Chester that have been decorated for Christmas in a very individual or olde worlde way, often with much care. I think they have a little magic about them.
“I’ve found and drawn four so that it’s a small containable project, and would like to share them with our We Are Chester readers.”
