Words: Paul Crofts

Richard O’Brien’s legendary cult rock ‘n’ roll musical – the Rocky Horror Show – arrives at Storyhouse next week as part of a sell-out worldwide tour, having now been seen by over 30 million theatregoers. It stars Strictly Come Dancing professional champion Joanne Clifton as Janet and Stephen Webb as Dr Frank n Furter.

The Rocky Horror show, famed for its timeless classics, including Sweet Transvestite, Damn It Janet, and of course, the pelvic-thrusting Time Warp, has become a camp, cult classic, with audiences worldwide who revel in the chance to join in the fun by dressing up as their favourite characters, donning fishnet stockings and feather boas – anything goes!

The show tells the story of two squeaky clean college kids – Brad and his fiancée Janet. When, by a twist of fate, their car breaks down outside a creepy mansion whilst on their way to visit their former college professor, they meet the charismatic Dr Frank n Furter.  It’s an adventure they’ll never forget! We Are Chester writer Paul Crofts will be heading down to Storyhouse to join in the fun, watch out for his review coming soon.

Rocky Horror Show runs at Storyhouse from Monday 16 September – Saturday 21 September.Full details can be found at http://www.storyhouse.com/event/rocky-horror-show where tickets can be booked online.
